Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1937, he moved to Matanzas early in life.  He completed his elementary education at the school “Sagrado Corazon”.  Then he went to Belen for three years, but graduated from Havana Military Academy in 1955.  From 1955 to 1956 he studied at the American Institute of Laundering in Joliet, Illinois, to prepare himself to work with his father in the laundry business.  Back in Cuba he thought of studying Medicine at the University of Havana, but the University was closed due to political unrest on the island.  Jose Adolfo joined the Resistance movement against Batista,was arrested and finally killed by the police on April 10, 1958.

Nace en La Habana, Cuba, en 1937 y a una temprana edad se muda a Matanzas.  Termina su educacion primaria en el Colegio "Sagrado Corazon.  Es entonces alumno de Belen durante tres anos, pero se gradua  de Havana Military Academy en 1955.  Estudia del 1955 al 1956 en American Institute of Laundering en Joliet, Illinois, preparandose para trabajar con su padre en el negocio de tintoreria.  En Cuba piensa estudiar medicina en la Universidad de La Habana, pero la universidad esta cerrada debido al agitado ambiente politico entonces existente en la isla.  Jose Adolfo se une al movimiento de resistencia contra Batista, es arrestado y finalmente asesinado por la policia el 10 de abril de 1958.
